The Organising Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), on Tuesday, led other Ijaw leaders in Bayelsa State on an assessment tour of ongoing projects embarked upon by the administration of Governor Seriake Dickson, declaring that the level of road and infrastructure development is commendable.
The tour of the state government projects, which was done under the aegis of the Ijaw Nation Forum (INF), had the organising secretary of the APC in Bayelsa State, Tonye Okio and the state chairman of the Civil Liberties Organisation (CLO), Chief Nengi James, as members.
While Okio commended Governor Dickson on road infrastructure, he also urged him to do his best for the people of the state.
The leader of the forum, Fred Brisibe, said though the tenure of the present administration had not ended, the performance was commendable.
The Ijaw Nation Forum (INF) members, led by Brisibe, was conducted on the assessment tour by the state Commissioner for Culture and Ijaw National Affairs, Dr Felix Tuodolo in the light of criticisms in some quarters that the governor was under-performing.
The APC chieftain, Okio, while giving his assessment on the tour, said though, “Dickson had tried his best just as former Governor Timipre Sylva. I am not impressed with the houses that are there, but the roads. It is the most important thing and it is a good development.”
