Governor Dickson of Bayelsa State has commended the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC and the security agencies for the smooth and peaceful conduct of the rescheduled State House of Assembly polls in 8 constituencies in the State, over the weekend.
A Government House statement was also full praise for the electorates in the affected areas for the mature, orderly and peaceful manner they conducted themselves before, during and after the elections, describing it as a manifestation of the government’s huge investment in security and the growing level of exposure and understanding of the electoral process by the citizenry.
Governor Dickson, who was elated by the tremendous achievements of the PDP in the assembly election, also felicitated with the party’s candidates for returning victorious and maintaining the leading position of the party in the State.
The Governor particularly, congratulated the Leader and Deputy Leader of the assembly Hon. Peter Akpe and Hon. Tonye Isenah, who emerged winners from Sagbama I and Kolokuma/Opokuma I respectively.
He also felicitated with Col. Bernard Kenebai, rtd, of Sagbama constituency II, Kate Owoko of Southern Ijaw constituency I, as well as Honourables Ball Oyarede, Kemelayefa Omonibeke and Michael Ogbere for returning victorious from Ekeremor constituencies I, II and III.
Governor Dickson also used the opportunity to express his gratitude to the people of the State for massively voting for all the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP candidates in all the elections, stressing that, his administration will continue to deliver on its mandate to the people of the State.
