He said “just like they did during the December 5 polls, the bulk of their bribe money is in fake currencies, as it is proven that APC is broke.”

Describing the act as criminal and a punishable offence, under the law, Obuebite had said “the printing and circulation of fake currencies was aimed at making up for the short fall in funding arising from the refusal of the Niger Delta Development Commission, (NDDC) to fund the campaign of the APC gubernatorial candidate, Chief Timipre Sylva.
Reports had It then that President Muhammadu Buhari, personally stopped the NDDC from releasing about N4 billion that was meant to fund the APC candidate for the December 5 election in Bayelsa State.
It would also be recalled that PDP had prior to this period raised an alarm over plans by the NDDC to award phony contracts to fund Sylva’s election. Having failed in this aspect, the party later perfected another plan to induce innocent voters with fake naira and dollar notes that are already in circulation.
The statement called on the security operatives and other relevant agencies to step into the matter and bring the culprits to book.
