BRASS LOCAL GOVT CARETAKER CHAIRMAN INAUGURATES MEMBERS, PROMISES TO MAKE STAFF WELFARE A TOP PRIORITY.
The new Caretaker Chairman of Brass Local Government Council, Hon. Bello Bina, has assured the workers of the Council that his administration would make the prompt payment of salaries his first priority in the local government area (LGA).
Hon. Bello Bina disclosed this in an interview, shortly after inaugurating other members of the Caretaker Committee in Twon-Brass, the local government headquarters.
On his arrival at the Twon-Brass, the Chairman was given a rousing welcome by the women of the area and local government staff who rolled out the drums of celebration in a special procession for the Chairman and his entourage.
On his assumption of office, the Chairman and the Vice Chairman, Mrs. Preye Brodrick, were joined by Pastor Precious Okosi of the Dominion World Changers Ministry, and the Local Government Secretary, Chief S.G Olofini, to pray for the LGA and the new leadership of the Council.
The Head of Local Government Administration (HLGA), Mrs. Jack Jackquatine, thereafter handed over the official documents to the new Chairman.
The Chairman on his first day in office also paid a courtesy visit to the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Twon-Brass. He also made a historic visit to the Twon-Brass Council of Traditional Rulers, with a promise to synergize with all stakeholders in the LGA to move the council forward.
Hon. Bello Bina who promised that he would bring to bear his wealth of experience to move the Council forward reiterated his commitment to make staff welfare and prompt payment of salaries a top priority in his administration.
On his first day in office, the Chairman also summon an emergency meeting with Security Chiefs in the Local government Area. The agenda of the meeting was mainly to end the menace of sea piracy, pipeline vandalism and other criminal activities in the LGA. Those present at the meeting includes the DPO of Twon-Brass police division, representative of the DSS, Representative of the Divisional Marine Police, the Immigration, representative of the Nigeria Civil defense Corp and other Security Chiefs in the Local Government area.
The Brass Local Government Caretaker Committee is headed by Hon. Bello Bina as Chairman; Hon. Preye Brodrick is Vice Chairman, while Chief S.G Olofini is to serve as Secretary. The other members of the Caretaker Committee, who are drawn from all the 10 wards in the LGA, are namely:
