The Chairman of Brass Local Government Council, Hon. Bello Bina, has today congratulated the Governor of Bayelsa State, His Excellency, Hon. Henry Seriake Dickson, on the gratifying verdict by the Justice Jimi Olukayode Bada led Appeal Court sitting in Abuja.
Bello, who felicitated with the governor in Yenagoa, stated that “the appeal court judgement is a good omen to the state,” adding that it would allow the governor to concentrate more on “continuing with his dream of transforming the state.”
According to him, “the verdict is a clear indication that it was the bulk of Bayelsans that opted for the Country-Man governor, which is a fact that can never be changed.”
He further pleaded with those in the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC), especially Chief Timipre Sylva, to join hands with the governor to move the state forward, as this has become imperative.
“Bayelsa needs all the development she can get. But this is only possible when there is unity of purpose. Unfortunately this cannot happen if we allow politics to divide us as a people.
“I want to plead with Chief Timipre Sylva and other members of the opposition to accept the appeal court verdict and work with governor Dickson, because it is the only way we can improve Bayelsa,” Bello stressed.
