The people of Odioama in Brass Local Government Area on Saturday organised a grand reception in honour of the honourable commissioner for Local Government Administration, Mrs. Agatha Goma, when she visited the town as part of her project inspection tour to the area.
Residents of the community, including students, youths, and the elderly, came out in their numbers to welcome the commissioner and her entourage with jubilations.
The people, who gave a rousing reception to the August visitor, expressed deep satisfaction with the Brass Council boss, Hon. Bello Bina, for keeping to his promise of renovating the dilapidated secondary school building in the town.
Speaking on behalf of the community, High Chief B.I Bari poured encomiums on Bello for his developmental strides, noting that “No politician has done what Bello is doing for Odioama,”
Also speaking, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chairman in Brass LGA, Hon. Philemon Kelly Dickson, thanked Bello for putting Odioma in his scheme of things.
Philemon, who is also a native of Odioama said that: “Bello surfaced and gave this school a new look when it was begging for attention. We are indeed proud of him to have done this at this economically critical time.”
In her speech, the honourable commissioner commended the people of Odioma for the warm welcome and assured them of government’s resolve to develop the town.
She also thanked Bello for emulating the governor by prioritizing education in the area, stressing that “Dickson who is a talk-na-do governor has produced talk-na-do chairmen.”
In his speech, Bello expressed gratitude to the people of Odioama for the reception and the peaceful manner they have related with workers in the site.
“I will use my capacity as chairman of the council to do better things for Odioama community,” Bello added.
