The Commissioner for Local Government Administration, Mrs. Agatha Goma, has said that the Brass Local Government Chairman, Hon. Bello Bina, is replicating the policies of the restoration government led by Hon. Henry Seriake Dickson.
Mrs Agatha, who stated this in Akassa while on a project monitoring tour to Brass LGA, expressed astonishment at the synergy between the Chairman and the people of the area.
While commissioning the newly built Restoration Ultramodern Market in Sangana, the commissioner lauded Bello for taking critical steps to impact the economic lives of the people, saying that “the project would enhance commercial activities in the area.”
She further thanked the council boss for naming the various blocks after prominent leaders in the State.
Mrs. Goma, who also inspected the landing jetty and canal excavation work ongoing in Sangana, expressed that Bello is truly restoring Brass LGA.
Speaking on behalf of Sangana community, Chief Bussa Koin said that the chairman has outperformed his predecessors within a short period of time and promised him their unflinching support in the forthcoming council elections.
The commissioner was impressed with the ongoing rehabilitation work at State School, Liama, the linking bridge at Egweama, the Women Development Centre and toilet facility at Ewoama and the shore-protection project in the council headquarters, Twon-Brass.
The state chairman of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON) and chairman Southern Ijaw LGA, Hon. Joshua Maciver, commended Bello for his determination to positively impact the people of Brass, noting that, it is very evident that the people are satisfied with his performance.
While reacting, Bello thanked the commissioner and her entourage for taking the pains to circumnavigate seas and rivers to inspect projects in the LGA.
He reaffirmed his commitment to strategically developing Brass LGA and bring government closer to the people, saying that, he will not disappoint the confidence reposed in him by the governor.
Some of the dignitaries present were the Brass LGA People’s Democratic Party chairman, Hon. Philemon Kelly Dickson, Hon. Beye Pogo, and a host of others.
