Founder and General Superintendent of the Deeper Life Bible Church, Pastor W. F. Kumuyi has encouraged public office holders to dedicate their lives to God in the course of their service in office.
He says such spiritual exercise will help them in making good decisions and also serve the people better, noting that without God no individual or group can succeed in any task.
Kumuyi accompanied by his wife gave the charge on Thursday while dedicating the new governor’s office inside the Bayelsa State Government House, Yenagoa.
He emphasized that it is okay to build a house and dedicate it but that must come after occupants of such house has equally dedicated themselves to God and lauded Governor Seriake Dickson for making God the center of his government.
The clergy stressed that with such profound love for God there shall be showers of blessings in the state and offered special prayers for the peace and progress of Bayelsa as well as the wisdom of God on the governor, his deputy governor, political appointees and the entire state.
On his part Governor Dickson stated that after 20 years of the creation of Bayelsa State no governor thought about building a befitting governors office and gave God the glory.
Dickson thanked Bayelsans and members of his cabinet for their support and encouragement, maintaining that it takes only God to give the wisdom to erect such a structure.
Also, the State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Hon. Jonathan Obuebite appreciated the governor for the vision, explaining that the magnificent edifice will serve successive governors.
Obuebite in a brief chat with newsmen said the new office is another landmark achievement of the governor with many more to come within the life span of the present administration.
