Gov. Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State has described the death of late deputy controller General of customs , Mr. Valentine Ndiomu as a terrible blow to the Ijaw Nation.
The Governor, who formally offered the condolence of the State , recalls that the late Valentine served Nigeria selflessly, pointing out that his death shows the ephemeral and transient nature of life. Saying, Valentine Ndiomu was no doubt a highly ranked customs officer until his unfortunate demise.
“I wish to, on behalf of the government and good people of Bayelsa State, expresses our deepest shock over this irreparable loss of one of our own, a son of the State and a Deputy Controller General, Nigerian Customs Service.
The governor whilst bemoaning the death of Mr. Valentine Ndiomu, assures the Ndiomu family of the support of the government and the people of the State in their moment of grief, as he prays for the peaceful repose of the loving and kind soul of the Late Customs helmsman in the bossom of God.
The funeral service was witnessed by several eminent persons including Sen. Fostor Ogola, Hon. Douye Diri, Hon. Fred Agbedi, both of the House of Representatives, top flag of the Nigeria military, politicians, traditional rulers, friends and Well wishers.
The late. Mr. Valentine Ndiomu who was born on the 10th of February, 1960, hails from Odoni Community in Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.
Joined the Nigerian Customs Service in 1988 and until his death, was Deputy Controller General. He is survived by a wife and four daughters.
