I Write in reply to your Vanguard Newspaper News item of May 8 2013 on page 16.
I want to start this article by stating that this open letter was resorted to because it is the only sure way of reaching you and besides it looks like your preferred way of communication. If not I would imagine that there are channels of communication between your good self and the Honorable Minister of the Niger Delta, Elder Godsday Orubebe.
I want to believe that you have a clear intention and purpose in choosing the medium with which you have expressed your descent to what Elder Orubebe purportedly did. I know the usual reason and it is to declare to the nation that you have an axe to grind with your political son, Elder Godsday Orubebe. I wonder, Sir, if it is not unusual for a Father to continually seek the downfall of his children.
I say this because I have a litany of political children who you have attempted to run down and some which you ran down. The ones that come to mind immediately are Apostle Paul Esewe and Engr. Stow both of blessed memory who were very close to you and who you claimed to be mentoring. At the end of the day, succeeded in bringing the gentlemen down on their knees. Later, it was Chief Wellington Okrika, another of your sons, you did all in your power to pull him down when he was been appointed as the Chairman of Desopadec and it took the grace of God for him to overcome your avalanche of criticism based on outright lies and Half Truths. Thereafter, it was James Onanefe Ibori who you called your Son and did everything to support his Gubernatorial ambitions. Suddenly, you started hounding him until he ended up in jail. It became the turn of Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan who you would have sent toGolgotha to be Crucified. God alone helped him to escape after he paid his Dues. It became Governor Peter Odili’s turn, Odili obviously was a difficult nut to crack. Barr. Peter Nwaboshe whom you accused of Corruption during his PDP Chairmanship aspiration was smart enough to pay his dues. No sooner he paid his dues he became your son and came for a second time as PDP Chairman. The vampire of a father who you are turning out to be has now focused his attention on the next political office holder to consume. Your so called First Son, President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan got his beat sometime ago when he the President refused to yield to your bid of changing the candidature of Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan. Subsequently, you defected from the PDP to DPP the symbol of the President while you ranted he has no right to dictate to you and started campaigning for Great Ogboru because of the Fat Cheque Ogboru gave you without considering the Fatherly relationship between you and the President. It has now become Orubebe’s turn.
Elder Godsday Orubebe has demonstrated his loyalty not only to Mr. President but also to the Niger Delta and to Nigeria. His offence was that he went to Ovu for a condolence visit and was purported to have declared his intention to contest for Governor of Delta State. I wonder where condolence visit has become a platform for declaring political intention. Instead what Orubebe was doing was building bridges across ethnic and social lines to ensure Peace and Unity in the environment. This he continued on the 4th of May 2013 when he visited the Olu of Warri Palace to celebrate with him on the occasion of his 26th Coronation Anniversary. He did not just visit but brought an Ijaw dance group to perform on that occasion, which in itself was unprecedented. Would you prefer the Niger-Delta to be burning like it is happening in the North now? I am sure he did not declare an intention to contest in 2015 but if he continues but if he continues the way he is going as an apostle of peace. I will be very glad to join people of good will to draft him into the gubernatorial race of Delta State. If he so wishes to contest it his prerogative and nobody’s.
Sir, you claim to be promoting the interest of the President but you are busy alienating the President from important interest groups in the Country. You have been going around picking on everybody that can possibly support the President. Is it former President Obasanjo or is it former President Babangida, to imagine that you PA E. K Clark can say anything against Gen. IBB that threw caution to the winds to return back all your confiscated properties; All the Cinemas, All the Houses in Victoria Island, All the Houses in Apapa road, All the Houses in Benin, All the Houses in Warri, All the Cinemas in Ibadan or who have you not taken on. Even Arewa’s People’s Congress. You have worked to remove them from supporting the President. As to declaring for political office. I recall that it was you, last year, who first declared that President Goodluck Jonathan will contest for a second term. Was this not embarrassing to the President?
As an Elder statesman and a man I wish to advice that you re-evaluate your tactics with a view to truly enhancing the value of democracy in the Country and to crave for Peace and sustainable development.
Sovereignty belongs to the people. Anybody has the right to declare to contest whatever position he or she wish to contest. It is the people who should determine who they want to represent them. The people have not agreed to cede their sovereignty to you Chief E. K. Clark and so do not arrogate to yourself the power to determine who should be Governor in Delta State. Please live Rt. Hon. (Engr.) Victor Ochei and Elder God’sday Orubebe alone to be focused on what they are doing.
I am not sure of the type of political relationship you have with Hon. Speaker (Engr.) Victor Ochei. But I know for sure that Dr. Mike Oberabor was a political grandson of yours. I am also sure that the gentleman Doctor has reasons to regret ever relating to you politically. The speaker is in the same age bracket with Doctor Oberabor and he is doing the wise thing to avoid your abducting him as a God child. He has read the hand writing on the wall and I am sure, he is asking you to leave him alone like Elder Godsday Orubebe is also asking to be left alone.
Nobody would ever wish to see the likes of Akangbou and Tosanowunmi to crumble which you aided.
Nigeria should pray for good Elder Statesmen because a country without responsible leaders is on the verge of collapse.
Nigeria should come together and pray for selfless leaders, non greedy and rascal leaders that love to watch their son’s crumble, but Leaders with Integrity.
Papa Clark should stop digging Trenches for his Children as it is obvious he has outlived his Life!
Thank You,
Mrs. Oritseweyinmi Yonwuren (Mrs).

Human rights activist, Ms Annkio Briggs, has threatened that Nigeria as a nation will cease to exist if President Goodluck Jonathan fails in his second term bid.
Briggs, who was speaking in Port Harcourt yesterday, said that those opposing President Jonathan, an Ijaw from Bayelsa State, over his perceived interest to contest the 2015 presidential election should realise that Niger Delta holds the key to the nation’s economy, adding, “we hold the key for the economy of Nigeria and this country will not know peace if Jonathan is not returned as president in 2015.”
She said “if a group of cabals can boast that they will make Nigeria ungovernable if they are denied the opportunity to produce the President of Nigeria, we in the Niger Delta will make the economy of this country ungovernable.
“We will make sure no single oil drop from our pipes. We will destroy everything and make sure nobody accesses our oil.”
She lampooned those calling for the arrest of Asari Dokubo and Kingsley Kuku over their comments that there will be instability in the country if Jonathan does not win the 2015 election, threatening that any attempt to arrest the duo will be resisted by the Niger Delta people.
“It is on record that some prominent Nigerians had made comments in the past capable of truncating the corporate existence of Nigeria and nobody arrested them. Any attempt to arrest Asari and Kuku will be resisted”, she warned.
