Governor Henry Seriake Dickson’s emergence as Chairman of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) National Reconciliation Committee has been described as a clear manifestation of his qualities as a thorough bred politician, democrat and leader.
Speaking to newsmen in the Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State Capital, representatives of 3 socio political youth bodies, the Restoration Youth Network (REYNET), National Union of Bayelsa State Students (NUBSS) and the National Youth Council (NYC), Bayelsa State chapter, also commended the leadership of the PDP at the National level for the choice of Governor Dickson, noting it was a wise and genuine decision taken in the interest of the party.
In separate interviews, representatives of the bodies, Timipre Asari, Agbada S. Agbada and Influence Bright Igrubia, expressed confidence in the ability of the Hon. Dickson led committee to reposition the party for a more progressive, productive and united future.
According to them, as a committed member of the party, the Bayelsa State Chief Executive will ensure that, all aggrieved party faithful are given the opportunity to air their views and opinions in other that amicable resolutions are reached in the interest of the party.
They equally commended Hon. Dickson for persuading some aggrieved members of the party to withdraw their suit stopping the PDP from conducting its national convention, describing it as the beginning of greater things to come for the party.
The groups, especially REYNET called for cooperation and understanding all stakeholders across the Country, adding that, the PDP will never be the same again after the Governor Dickson led Reconciliation Committee’s assignment.
“We are of the strong believe that, PDP will not only remain the leading political party in the country, but it will become a greater force to be reckoned with in the affairs of the nation”
“Dickson is a detribalized and an unbiased leader and we trust that he will bring these qualities to bear in the task of resolving the various issues and opinion groups within the party at State and National levels”
While assuring the committee of REYNET’s support, it also prayed God to direct as well as endow Governor Dickson and the committee with the wisdom of King Solomon to deliver on their mandate.

Due to very pressing State and National assignments, His Excellency Hon. Henry Seriake Dickson has moved his 3 weeks annual vacation to take effect from the 15th of August, 2013.
The leave had been planned to commence from the 5th of August, 2013.
According to a Government House statement, the decision to move the date was among other things informed by the Governor’s present role as Chairman of the PDP Reconciliation Committee, the need for expeditious attention to the committee’s job and other pressing state duties.
The leave itself is going to be a working leave as he is expected to break up at some intervals to attend to pressing issues at both State and National levels.
